Which Sagrada Família Tour Is Right for You?
Two tours, one building. Here is how to choose, because you only need one.

Two Great Tours, One Building
We run two Sagrada Família tours, and they are an either/or choice, not a sequence. You pick one. The reason is simple: the inside tour already covers the outside up close, so taking the outside walk first would only repeat it. Choose the outside tour for a ticket-free way to read the building from the parks, or the inside tour to stand within it as well.
Neither is the lesser tour. The outside walk is a full experience in its own right, and the distance view is a real advantage, not a second best. The inside tour is the full private experience, and it includes the facades up close as well as the interior.

Which One Should You Pick?
From the Outside
Choose the Outside Tour If
- You could not get interior tickets, or would rather skip the queue
- You want to understand the building without paying for entry
- You like seeing the whole thing from a distance, with room to step back
- You want a Public small-group walk, or a Private one for up to 15
Inside & Outside
Choose the Inside Tour If
- You want to stand inside, under the branching columns and the coloured light
- You want the crypt and Gaudí’s tomb as well as the facades
- You are happy to book an interior ticket separately
- You want a private tour, just your group, with a licensed guide
Is It Worth Going Inside?
Yes, if you can. The interior is special: a forest of branching columns, coloured light that shifts through the day, and the crypt where Gaudí is buried. If you can get a ticket and the budget works, going inside is worth it.
But it is not essential to appreciating the building. Gaudí told the whole story on the outside, across the facades, and from the parks you can step back and take it all in. Plenty of guests read the building only from the outside and feel they missed nothing. So go inside if you can, and do not worry if you cannot. Either way, you leave understanding what you are looking at.
Common Questions
The questions guests ask when choosing between the two Sagrada Família tours. If yours is not here, just write to us.
No. The inside tour already covers the exterior up close, so it includes what the outside walk does. Pick one, not both. Taking the outside walk first would just repeat the part the inside tour also covers.
Neither is better. They are for different things. The outside tour reads the building from the parks with no ticket. The inside tour adds the interior. Choose by whether you want to go in, not by which is the bigger tour.
You can, but there is no need, and the two overlap. The inside tour reads the facades up close as well, so you would be repeating that part. Almost everyone takes one or the other.
Only for the inside tour. It needs an interior entry ticket, which is required and booked separately at the official site, sagradafamilia.org. The outside tour needs no tickets at all, because it stays in the parks around the building.
Yes if you can, but it is not essential. The interior is wonderful, the columns and the coloured light especially. But Gaudí designed the building to be read from the outside too, so the outside tour is a complete experience on its own. Go in if you can; you are not missing the building if you cannot.
One building, two ways to see it. Pick the one that fits your trip.
